The squadrons stay at RAF Tempsford was brief and frustrating. The squadron ground crews started to arrive on February 25th 1944 however it was a further 3 days until the aircrew arrived. Under the command of “A Flights Squadron Leader John Overton 12 crews, 8 drawn from “A” Flight and 4 from “B” Flight were tasked with dropping arms and equipment to the Resistant networks in France during the “moon” period. The squadron carried out a total of 44 sorties during its stay, the last operation being flown on March 15th 1944. The squadron departed on March 16th.
