Born March 14th 1912, Lyncombe, Bath.

Wing Commander Geoffrey Noden Amison, Mention-in-Dispatch.  Twenty eight year old Amison had joined the RAF in 1932 and had learnt to fly at No.3 Training School, Grantham. In 1937 Amison found himself stationed with No.2 Armoured Car Company based near Ramla, Palestine. It was while in Palestine he was award a MiD in recognition of distinguished services rendered during this period. By now a squadron leader he joined No.38 Squadron in August 1939, between August and November 1940 he joined No.311 (Czechoslovak) Squadron, his role was navigation instructor and O/C “B” Flight.  During December 1940 he spent a brief period with No.214 based at R.A.F Stradishall before posting to No.218 Squadron, he was promoted the non-substantive rank of acting wing commander on February 6th  1941. He died in 1979 with the rank of Group Captain.
